Fan Diego offers diagnostic, repair, and parts service in San Diego and the Coachella Valley — from Chula Vista and La Jolla through Palm Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert, and Indio. We perform in-showroom or in-home diagnostics. We stock parts for the major brands — capacitors, motors, remote controls, blades, light kits. And we give honest advice on when repair is worth it and when replacement is the better call. 44 years doing this work.

We repair ceiling fans from the best brands — even ones you didn't buy from us.

Most stores that sell fans won't repair anything they didn't sell themselves. That seems absurd to us. If your fan is noisy, vibrating, or the remote stopped working, we'll help you — regardless of where you originally bought it. We stock parts for the major brands. We know how the premium-brand models come apart. And we give you an honest diagnosis before charging anything.

This is one reason Southern California families come back to us generation after generation. When something breaks, we have a solution — not an excuse.

Honest advice

Sometimes the honest answer is replace — and we'll tell you.

It's not always worth repairing a fan. If your fan is 15 years old, missing the motor — the most expensive part — and your home has changed since you installed it, replacing it is often the better call. A new model will be more efficient, quieter, and come with full warranty.

We give this advice honestly. If repair makes sense, we repair. If replacement is better for your case, we recommend options — and if you buy the replacement from us, we credit the diagnostic cost against your new purchase.

Rules of thumb

  • Failed capacitor — almost always worth repairing
  • Remote or switch — worth repairing
  • Failed motor on a budget fan under 5 years old — depends
  • Failed motor on a budget fan over 10 years old — usually better to replace
  • Multiple parts failing simultaneously — probably replace

Frequently asked questions

How much does a diagnostic cost?

In-showroom diagnostic is usually free if you bring your fan. In-home diagnostic has a visit fee that we credit against any repair we do. We confirm the cost before scheduling.

Do you repair fans over 10 years old?

Yes, often. It depends on the brand, model, and what's failing. Some fans have parts available 20+ years later. Others discontinue parts more quickly. We tell you what's feasible when we diagnose.

Do you repair fans bought from another store?

Yes. And to us, that matters. We repair fans bought from other stores, online, or installed by another company. If we can diagnose it, we can usually repair it.

Do you stock parts?

Yes, for major brands: capacitors, motors, blades, common remotes, and light kits. For less common models, we can often special-order parts — we will confirm availability when we diagnose your fan.

How much does a repair cost?

It depends on the problem and the part. We diagnose it, explain what your fan needs, and give you a quote before we start any work. No surprises. Contact us to schedule.

Do you do repairs in-home or only in-showroom?

Both. If your fan is hard to take down (vaulted ceilings, complicated mounting) or you prefer not to dismount it, we come to your home. If you can bring the fan or its parts in, in-showroom diagnostics are faster and cheaper.

How long does a repair take?

It depends on the problem and parts availability. When we diagnose it, we give you a clear estimate. Contact us to schedule your service.

Price ranges are illustrative. We confirm the exact cost before starting any work.
